Murphy's Oil Soap works well for me. You might have to clean more then once to get it all off if it's thick.

1 part linseed oil and 3 parts mineral spirits. Place in a glass jar stir well, take a cleaning rag, rub on cabinets. Use another cleaning rag and rub off excess to a beautiful shine. You won't be disappointed. Stir mixture throughout.

I have been doing this process for over 40 years. I do my cabinets once a year and they still look like new.
