This shelf can be made with 3 pieces of wood and minimal tools. It’s super simple. Check it out! If you're looking for a shelf for kid books, maybe a shelf for your bathroom or even your kitchen or living area - this is the shelf for you!
MATERIALS:
2 1x3 or 1x4
1 1x2
Wood glue
Screws
Paint/stain
Sand paper

TOOLS:
Miter saw (or something similar to cut the boards to length)
Nailer
Drill/ drill bits
Clamps
Cut your 3 boards to size - the back, bottom and front. Your sizes will depends on the space you have on you wall for this shelf.
Use wood glue and a few clamps to secure the boards in place. The back and bottom board I used were the same size, the board I used for the front of the shelf was a bit smaller (1x2) , just to create a small ledge for the books to sit on.
Drill pilot holes in the back of the shelf (toward the bottom), then use your screws to secure it. I put about 3 screws in across the back.

Attach the 1x2 on the front using the nailer.

Sand the shelf until it's smooth, wipe off any excess wood glue, and then paint or stain the shelf.
