How do u make butter from whole milk that's past it prime.?

I want t know if I can make butter with milk from the grocery that is a little past it's prime for drinking, & how? THanks

    Butter is made from cream not milk, if you have enough separated cream here you go...


    Directions

    1. Pour cream into the jar and screw on the lid. Shake jar until butter forms a soft lump, 15 to 20 minutes. ...
    2. Pour contents of the jar into a fine mesh strainer and strain out the buttermilk, leaving the solid butter. Remove the lump of butter and wrap in plastic wrap.

    It does not take much to make butter. Put milk into jar and seal the top and shake. The butter will start to show in yellow lumps. When the milk looks watery, it is complete. Drain and add some salt and ready to use.

    If it's past it's prime for drinking I don't think I'd try to make butter out of it! You can bake with sour milk!

    Or make pancakes. You need heavy cream to make butter.
