Keep dogs out of garden?

  • Talk to the owners, not the dogs fault. Or build the proverbial "little white picket fence."

I have a neighbor that lives on a corner lot. She was tired of picking up dog poop. I told her that it wasn't dog poop, that was raccoon poop. She didn't believe me. She informed me that we did not have raccoons in the area. (We do along with a host of other wildlife she knows nothing about.) (My neighborhood, thankfully for the most part is respectful and people do pick up after their dogs.) She installed an adorable picket fence. But she still had to pick up poop. Next she installed a camera system. NOW she believed me as she saw them on camera. Unfortunately she was boiling mad. A few days after that a pack of coyotes used her front yard . . . Wonder what she is gonna do about that???? 🤔

Hi Shirley, this is Peggy. You can get a spray to deter dogs, but it needs to be put down after it rains. Please remember the dogs are not to blame, they should not run loose. A fence would keep them out, but I know that is not always an option. Good luck

I have a rock garden & it is my puppy that is getting rocks out of it & bringing them to me. So I need something to deter her.

Your puppy needs an "outdoor" toy that is more attractive than the rocks. However, if your puppy is a Great pyrenees, be advised that they love to dig!
