Diluted white vinegar or a wood cleaner. Wipe with a clean damp cloth afterwards.

Use a very mild soap and water and a lint free cloth. A lot depends on whether the person sealed the paint with wax or a poly product or didn't seal at all. It also depends whether it was chalk paint or latex or oil based. But I've found I can clean just about anything off of painted wood using a mild soap and water.
