How do I get QuikShine off of the ceramic tiles in my kitchen?

Problem #1 - I spent three days down on my hands and knees scrubbing the grout on my kitchen floor with vinegar. I didn't realize how dirty it was and was amazed at how clean it came up. However, the tiles now looked very dull so I thought I should put a polish on them to make them shine. I bought a product called QuikShine which listed many surfaces including tiles.

I put this product on, as per the instructions, and the floor looked great, all shiny and new. Then when I went to mop it the next day it started to come off in what I can only describe as dozens of long skinny wads of what looked like wet rolls of blotting paper. The more I pushed the mop back and forth over the tiles the more of this stuff came off, some getting stuck in the sunken grout. It became totally impossible to mop because I had to keep stopping to pull all of these rolls off of the sponge. I changed mops, same thing. I got so frustrated I left some of it on thinking I could sweep it up when it was dry. No. There it was all stuck to the floor.

So I now have a shiny floor with huge dull patches everywhere where this stuff has sloughed off. I thought of using a cloth to get it off but can imagine it was be just as bad as using a sponge mop. The only thing I can think of is getting down and scrubbing it off tile by tile. I have no idea what to do with this floor without tearing my hair out. Any non-labor-intensive ideas?

Buy Zap. It really works. It cleans the grout and the tiles down to the original The. Best way to use it is on a car Rollins seat to save your knees or get knee pads.

I would try Krud Kutter de glosser. I found it at home depot for about $6. This stuff is GREAT !!! It cleans and gets off gloss left by grease and polishes. I used it on my cabinets, before painting them. I thought they were clean , but couldn't believe what came off of them !!!

It's easy to use, just spray and wipe off with paper towels.

I had the same problem with Quick Shine, I will NEVER USE THAT PRODUCT AGAIN!

After cleaning the floor many times with Ammonia, I finally used a straight edge razor to get the rest of that plastic like goop off.

I have since used both Zep and Krud Kutter. I do prefer, Krud Kutter.

Thanks one and all. I can see this is going to be a horrendous problem to solve. I am not in good health, and found it absolutely exhausting to scrub the grout in the first place, so it will take an enormous amount of effort to get this disgusting stuff off. I shall have to wait a while until I get a bit of energy to spare.

What would you suggest I use to shine the floor when I get this awful Quick Shine off?

That company should be taken outside and shot!!!

Well, time has past since my last post and I have finally got around to getting that terrible Quick Shine off my floor tiles. I sprayed Krud Kutter and wiped it off with a Swiffer. However, the grout is still dirty and I think I shall have to scrub it anyway.

Does anybody know what I can use to shine the floor without it turning into plastic goop?
