How can i paint inside a yard globe?

I have 3 glass yard globes, they look like big Xmas ornaments. The necks sit in a metal stand and they had a rubber cap. The cap came off the turquoise tinted globe and within a couple weeks the glass was clear. I poured glass paint into the globe and swirled it around. It looked okay. Now, a week later the color has washed out. I suppose I need to seal the end. What can I use inside the globe that will stay. Here is pic of when I first got them. 1 is a blue colored glass, 1 is tinted silver inside (still has the cap) and the turquoise one is the problem.,

Thanks, Linda

Just do what you did again with the paint. Cover the hole with duct tape, then dip into the stuff they dip tool handles in to make have a rubber grip. Sorry don't know what it's called, but hardware store carries it. That will seal it.

Thanks Kellie, I will try that. I didn't realize the rubber caps are that important. But here in Florida it rains a lot so I guess it make sense.

    Plasti Dip

  • This technique worked great on the christmas baubles so should work on your garden globes.

There are a number of rubberized coating products available. Search Google for "rubberized paint" and you can get it in paint can or spray can. I think dipping instead of spraying the coating would work better for your purpose.

I have access to a lot of bowling balls. Give me ideas to use them. If I make decorative balls for the yard, what kind of paint would be best?

I have several bowling balls spaced around my yard and found that they eventually crack in half harsh weather. Be aware!

I can't answer your question about the globes but if these are the painted ones they look beautiful!! My question is HOW do you get rid of every weed in that bed?!? It looks awesome with the decor and just the rocks. My rocks that circle my house are full of weeds no matter what we do. HELP....

You could try pouring some varnish or poly on the inside after the paint has dried to seal it.
