Paint Brush Caddy - A Thrift Store Repurpose

One of my best thrift shopping tips is to keep an open mind while shopping. This repurposed paint brush caddy is a perfect example of that tip in action.
On this particular trip I was looking for something specific. I like to keep a running list of things I want to keep an eye open for when I already have a project in mind.
But I also keep an open mind - so that I don't miss a great piece like this little candle holder.
I knew right away what I'd do with it, and it had nothing at all to do with candles.
First I gathered some favorite spray paints.
Pink is my current crush, and I love how beautifully it coordinates with white and silver.
I painted the pretty sleeves pink.
And the base white.
Finally, I recycled a few empty food cans, spraying them silver. They were the perfect size for holding a few sets of paint brushes.
This was such a simple project, but a great storage solution for my paint brushes - and at a thrift store price.
