Have you tried making a hanging mosaic for a window....like in a picture frame or similar ?

Are you sure they no longer work? Sometimes all they need is a battery change.

  Yes, Naomie, I've changed the batteries several times and left them in the sun and nothing happens - no light-ups.

  Excellent! You would be surprised as to how many people do not know just to change the batteries. I save all my old bits too to upcycle them. The stakes alone come in handy. Do you need any hose guards? You can embellish the tops if need be. See if any of these appeal to you?
