Need to add protection to Arborvitae trees in rough winter months?

I live on Cape Cod and just planted 36 18” arborvitae trees. My question is should I do anything to protect them from our rough winter months?

You should mulch the roots up to 4" deep. If you are expecting a really harsh winter, you can wrap the shrubs in burlap to protect from harsh wind and snow.
Hi Sue. I leave most of mine but a few that are in direct wind and close to the road. I wrap those in burlap to help protect them. In winter if you get heavy snow and it is weighing the branches down I would go out and shake them off or knock the snow off so the branches don't break. They are a pretty tree to have in winter.
