Try searching 1960s decor, hippie ,Moroccan , and global decor. Places like World Market, Crate and Barrel and fleamarkets are great for ideas or itemsespecially collections meant for teens and college students. Our house is boho decorated in bright colors such as turquiose, navy, pink and orange. If you sellect multiple print fabrics and layer them anything goes. Repurpose and upcycle odd items you find around. Add hanging plants . Make it as bold as you will enjoy. Most of our decor is from found objects including steampunk,, mandellas, shells, bottles and drift wood. When we retired we downsize from a colonial to beach area manufacted home with a big front porch (ie 1985 mobile home needing work that had a nice porch). Since we don’t have to worry about resale value as only the land has value and we are no longer under a covenant we are having a great time doing what we like! Look for old fabric with bright colors and mix the up second hand is great. Just have a great time doing it a bit at a time.

Boho is similar to eclectic, except in Boho, almost everything is vintage with bright colors and rich textures, with many fabrics. You can make any style furniture Bohemian by layering printed throws and fringed scarves over parts of the furniture. Display a tapestry or two on the walls. Cover a lampshade with a smaller scarf (use LED lights). Cover a dresser or a buffet with a fringed scarf. Place an extra rug on the floor, over wood or carpet, to make the room cozier. Dimmer lights are preferable, but with all the fabrics, use battery powered candles instead of real, although a stick of incense or a bowl of water or oil with essential oils in it can scent the whole space. Maybe this has given you a few ideas. My inspiration is the movies about gypsies who traveled in elaborately decorated wagons. Boho isn’t just a district in big cities: it has deep and continuing history. Best wishes, Sharon, and share on Hometalk.com! ☺️
