Do you mean Tom McFadden the CA furniture maker! If the chip is little, I’d let it be, these are the things that endear us to antiques. If it’s a big chip, you may have to do a Dutchman repair like on doors. You might want to shoot him an email and ask his opinion if it’s Tom McFadden.
