Use crushed up egg shells around the base of your plants and the perimeter of your garden. They don't like crawling over sharp edges/things so it will help deter them. You can also use salt with the egg shells.

Sprinkle Epsom Salt on the soil around your tomatoes, it will dissolve the snails as they crawl over it. Be careful to not get it on your tomato plants, it will burn them. ES also is an important nutrient many plants need.
