Wintering begonias- can I bring them inside? Can they be trimmed?

I have a annual and a bulb type begonia and wondering how to over winter them. Can I just bring the plants inside? And the annual is a bit “leggy” on some stems can they be trimmed back? TIA Hometalkers

Yes, they can both be brought inside. Keep the bulbs wrapped in newspaper and in a cool dry place. The begonias need a place in the sunshine and only monthly watering. Yes, you can trim the begonias, but if you can stand the leggy another month or so, see if less watering and window light keeps the flowers coming for a while. Then trim the stems that die off. Best wishes! ☺️

Hi Kim. I store my begonia bulbs inside. I pull the whole plant out and then cut the foliage off. Let it dry for a few days and then put it in a bucket or brown paper bag with peat moss. I then store mine in the basement. Good Luck!
