It's possible that instead of the linseed and the marine varnish, you could use teak oil. Obviously, this table isn't teak, but I use teak oil on our teak boat trim and it makes it very water resistant.
Rather than linseed oil use Water Lox for your finish. It will dry much faster. If yu apply linseed oil you have to wait for it to cure which will take at least 2 weeks, maybe longer.
As long as both are oil based products you're good to go. If you're nervous, just do a small test area first in an inconspicuous spot . I'd also give the linseed oil several days to seep into the wood & dry well before applying the varnish.
Do not use both. Linssed oil absorbs into the wood and must be reapplied every two to three years. It acts as a sealer and protectant. Marine varnish also saoks into the grain and creats a surface seal. Any solid sealer over linseed oil will just float, crack, and peel right off.
