My indoor plants are tended to twice a year. Late fall and early spring.

My outdoor plants in pots are trimmed all year if needed, usually early evening or early morning.

If a plant is in full flower, leave it alone. Once it stops flowering you can trim.

The important thing to remember is all plants are different and tolerate han intervention different.

Know your plants. Take the time to look up house plants or buy a book about them.

When you buy outdoor plants buy from some reputable and talk to them about care.

Your plants will be happy and make you happy for a long time.

I always trim my plants before the first frost or right after it warms up in the spring. Both indoor and outdoor plants.

If they are indoor plants they should be trimmed when they get leggy...cutting them back makes them bushier and fuller. Outdoor plants should be cut back before first frost in fall or after last frost in spring.
