I had the same problem but found that mayonnaise solves the problem! Just spread some mayo (not Miracle Whip) on area and let it set for about 15 minutes and then buff it off. You may need to repeat the process but it does work! The mayo draws out the moisture in the wood and also polishes the wood. Good luck!

A dab of white toothpaste (not gel0 on a damp cloth and rub on a circular motion.
for water stains. you can use !00% cotton cloth over the stain. set your iron on med. and iron over it (no steam) till it darkens up.
