What is the best wood to use for a wattle fence?

I want to build a wattle fence to keep poultry out of the strawberry patch. What is the best kind of wood twigs to use?

    Here is a list of the supple tree branches that would work. "Hazel, willow, sweet chestnut, plum, forsythia or any supple, long, straight, slender saplings make good weavers. Newly cut, green wood is best and easiest. Willow is an exception as it can be soaked to become more supple." Please post pictures when you do this. I would love to see how it turn out.

    Hi Janet, Was going to say the same as Trudy. But if you are stuck, try to use Hazel Stakes and any other pliable branches or other bendy material you can find will do the job!
