How can I improve the appearance of a concrete front porch?
My front entrance is a 8' x 5' x 4" (height) of bare concrete. It is not aesthetically appealing and I would prefer not to paint it. What other top finish can I apply to improve the appearance that will not be too slippery?

Use a masonry stain. You can find them in solid-which covers completely or semi-transparent which lets some of the original color show through. Stain penetrates the concrete and will not flake off like paint. It comes in many colors.
You can stain it. Everyone I know that has sealed their concrete complains about the slip increase. SlipDoctors has a Clear but it's rather pricey ($125/gallon). This link is for yellow but you can choose Clean in the drop down if you think it will work for you.

Concrete stains come in any color you want. They permeate the pores of the concrete. No slip, no peel.
People make stencils, use tape for pretend grout joints, sponge it on - all kinds of things in multiple colors.
Its at big box DIY stores, I like Behr’s version at about $28 a gallon.

I paint mine with a concrete paint that has sand in it so it,s not slippery then I took a mold bought at Lowe’s that looks like field rocks is used to pour concrete in to make pathways I used about 4 different colors in the hammered spray cans at Walmart then I sealed with cement sealer have had it for about 6 yrs now the rock looking part needs a touch up here and there but very pleased with the look and how long it lasted
