How to clean plastic nightguard?

If I had this problem, I wouldn't use bleach or borax for something that goes into my son's mouth. Here's a website that suggests separate soaks in vinegar and hydrogen peroxide. Good luck!

You can clean it with denture cleaner tablets--several times if necessary--and scrub it with a toothbrush and toothpaste after each use. I worked in a dental office for many years--this is what we told our patients. It also helps to soak it in mouthwash a few times a month.

Don't use bleach or borax. You don;t want to poison your son or even make the plastic soft. Depending on your body's individual chemical makeup, sometimes these do yellow after some time but that doesn't mean they are less effective. I always bring mine to the dentist and have them super sterilize it while I sit in the chair.
