I would like to keep my shrubs, mulch flower bed and use containers for perennials, annuals and small shrubs. I'm in zone 6. I would like info on perennials wintering over in pots. Thanks for any input.

You should bring pots under cover of some kind. Put in shed or garage or covered porch. If it freezes your pots might break. Plus you’ll want to protect your plants as well. You’ll still have to water them. You could also build a small greenhouse.

Yes ceramic and terracotta pots will crack during the winter. You'll need an enclosed Sun room to survive the winter.
