How to make pull chain light look great?

This pull chain light fix doesn’t stay because the chain moves it every time it gets pulled. It’s not worth it to tear up the drywall and put in a switched light. What kind of shade to use?
I"m not sure I understand this picture. Where is this shade attached to? I'm assuming it's one of those that has a metal frame that hugs the lightbulb. So, shouldn't the chain be coming from the fixture itsef? Maybe the problem is that you need a shade that is narrower on the top and wide on the bottom, or even better a drum sape. For about 15.00 you can get a square glass shade light fixture (can take 1 or 2 bulbs) which has the pull chain built through the center (goes through the center mounting hole of the light cover, it's very sturdy) and you will never have that problem again.
Oh, I actually did this once! I found an inexpensive plastic shade that clips on to the light bulb. I put it on the bulb and marked the spot where the chain touched it. Then I took the shade off and drilled a small hole where the chain could come through. If the hole is too small, it will bump the shade out of position, so you have to make it big enough. It worked just fine.
Hi Cheryl, there are shades available that have enough flexibility to clip right over a light bulb. Also, you may be able to find a shade with a small center can that will fit just below the light piece on the ceiling and then screw in the bulb which holds the shade in place. I think they are available at WallMart or certainly in a place that has lots of lamps! Good Luck!
