I use a strong cleaner, lightly sanded, Kilz oil based primer, and Benjamin Moore advance paint applied with a small foam roller. The primer was by far the most important step! Any little spots I missed with the primer and just painted over are the only spots that ever chipped and needed a touch up!
Take one of the cabinet doors to the paint department of the home improvement store and ask them to select paint/stains and other finishes and application tools that will work for yourkitchen.
