How do I apply a protective, lacquer-like, clear coating to my painted flower pots ?

there is a good clear coat spray, i use it on my painted figurines and anything painted outside. ask for the kind that went turn it yellow. or even several coats of polyurethane. they make the whip or brush on kind.
I also use a spray clear coat polyurethane sealer for projects like that! :)
