How do I build a lawn mower shed in my backyard ?

You can build a small shed off the back of your house using block as support off the ground , use pressure treated plywood and 2 x 4s for floor joist then use none pressure treated for the remainder of it atatch to the side of the house with screws no need to remove siding build it out about 6 feet from the house by as wide as you like make framing spacing at 16 inch centers and use exsterier plywood for the siding and doors , prim before you paint. Make the roof slope down from the house and use as flat shingle on the roof also use plywood on the roof not wafer bord . Draw a plan on paper before you start this will help you figure out every step you need to take make sure it’s to scale that way you can figure out how much material you need. Some lumber yards will help you figure that out as well.

What is your time worth? It would take me a week to build a shed and build a pad for its floor. Do you own a circular saw, saw horses, cordless drill with drive bits and a 30’ extension cord? Are you comfortable using a circular saw?

One can buy Plans at places like Menards & Lowe’s. YouTube videos can only do so much, and aren’t useful out in the field.

What I’m getting at is the materials list below and your time will be more expensive and not as long lasting than if you bought a prefabricated resin shed.

They have integral solid floors, don’t rust, don’t leak, easy to hose down and don’t need painting, ever.

Quick Parts List: Exterior grade 3/4” plywood at least 6 sheets, exterior hinges, roofing, roofing nails, concrete blocks floor, galvanized screws, at least 20 2x4 studs, at least 6 2x4 treated sole plates, primer, paint and tools listed above, plus more. This list does not address anchoring the shed to the concrete blocks floor and if you have blustery weather, I would consider that.

Be be careful how close you put it against a property line fence, there are Zoning Ordinances in many jurisdictions.

5 x 3 foot shed with open backing that butts up to any existing home/fence etc. comes with sliding door excellent and has a lip on the ground to roll your lawnmower in. Recommended easy to install because you do not mind a lot of nuts and bolts.

Rubbermaid sells one and it would be cheeper

You can buy ready-made sheds, either of wood or sturdy vinyl. They're available in most big box stores, Costco, etc. You can use large pavers as a base to place the shed on. Figure out how much space you need for your lawnmower and garden tools, some sheds are only about 5 x 7 feet.

You can get a kit to build one of the aluminium or vinyl sides ones and put it on a base of rock or landscaping stones.
