Try a product called Folex , it's the best stain remover !!! Gets out old stains like dust , ink , wine.... I got a large bottle from home depot for $6. Spray on stain , rub , blot dry ! Also great in carpet cleaning machine

I would try hydrogen peroxide. It won't hurt the carpet. Second choice would be to use oxyclean
