How do I restain wood?
I have a lake house that has a lot of wood! My husband does not want to paint it but it needs a facelift! How do you accomplish giving it that new look?

You need to strip off the existing finish, sand down then restain and seal. It is a process and is messy. You can DIY or hire out.
Hi Cathy. I'm Cindy. You could "refresh" the wood by washing it with Murphy's Oil Soap. The soap takes off any dust and debris. The oil conditions the wood. That might be just the face lift you're looking for. Good luck Cathy.
Above answers are good. Make husband do the stripping. Might just convince him to compromise and let you paint some.
