What about a kitchen island?
You can buy pre-fab kitchen base cabinets and put a new counter on top. You will probably want to run power to the cabinet and have a plug on the side.
A very affordable and creative way to add a kitchen island to your kitchen is to repurpose an old dresser with paint, and add some hooks, a paper towel handle and maybe a new top, if you are comfortable doing some woodwork. Here is a great example.
