How do I paint wood floors?

Why paint at all? Sand it down and refinish. Any holes from tack strip can be filled to match. Obviously I LOVE my wood floors!

Lowes /home depot have floor paint n it can be tinted for color. Painted wood floors r still wood floors, you could stain them if you wanted a more "wood" look. Some people do stencils after painting. Just search for painted wood floors and / or feel old wood floors. Should be lots of ideas on hometalk.

I bought some clearance samples to repaint my kitchen backsplashes and imagine my surprise when I opened the can to start painting and realized it was deck and floor paint! Very strong smelling stuff. I went ahead and used it and suffered for a week with the smell but you know what? I can wash those walls without disturbing any paint! It doesn't stain and it stays put!

What about a paper bag floor? Have you seen them? Take brown craft paper or paper bags torn in pieces, crumple them up, wet with a mix of elmers glue and water then place on the floor overlapping until completely covered. After it dries you can use wood stain to darken it or just seal it with several coats of poly. It looks like leather!

Super easy to paint wood floors, just make sure they are super clean and then start painting with Dixie Belle Chalk Mineral Paint. I am attaching a picture of a wood floor that one of our retailers did with Dixie Belle. It looks terrific.
