ROLLER, and brush for trim.
Either. You will still need to do the cutting in. Both will leave splatter marks.
I think there's a lot more prep for spraying. If you're good with that, spraying will be faster.
Rollers and sprayers are messy! I am a real fan of pads, buy a decent brand (my favourite is Harris) with a good paint tray with a roller and you get the speed of rollering without the little splatters! They get bad reviews but after reading them almost all are down to user error. The key is not to overload the paint tray or use cheap runny paint. My brother is a pro decorator and he uses them to paint in multi million pound houses so they can't be bad! You still need to cut in with a brush or small pad.
Using a sprayer inside is not a good idea. The spray gets into the air and goes everywhere, Sprayers inside are mostly used for painting before floors, cabinets, etc. are installed. You will need a good quality roller and roller pan, an edger for doing around molding and a crisp line around ceilings. Also a good brush and a sash brush for cutting in. Frog tape and drop clothes. Best wishes.
ROLLER and a good brush for cutting in around trim.
