DIY Maple Breadboards

Handmade breadboards from a 1x6 maple board, and stained with coffee!
I started by cutting down the board in 1' long pieces. I created each handle by tracing a shape drawn on paper and cutting it out with a scroll saw.
I wanted to deepen the color just a bit to bring out the beautiful grain of the maple. I went with an all natural stain so it would be food safe - coffee! I figured, it stains your teeth and mugs, why not wood? :)
You can see the difference in how the grain is defined in this picture. It's not a drastic result, but it gives the boards a little extra oomph.
