Shut the 2 water supply valves.
Open faucets to relieve pressure.
Disconnect water pipes by unscrewing at top of valves - have a dish to catch water.
Loosen and remove the nuts holding faucet to sink. You may need a basin wrench to reach them.
Disconnect clip that holds the sink drain rod to the drain lever/
Pull faucet and connected items up and out.
Reverse the process when installing new stuff. Have water hoses connected to new faucet before installing. Getting under the sink and making connections is hard and you don't want any leaks.
Follow instructions that come with your new faucet.
Shut the water go under the sink and detach the pipes sink top drain pull up the sink remove the base of the sink then start with new

Ken's suggestion is just great. We changed out our bathroom faucet and sink faucet a couple of years ago and it was done exactly as he stated. It was not hard to do at all. The new faucet should come with directions that will instruct you how to do it also. Good luck with your project!
