This accent wall was done by the previous owners, by hand. I would really like to update it, maybe paint it. Possibly a charcoal color? What are your thoughts?
Hi: It appears that the windows are set in so you could use spring rods. I have done that when I didn't want the curtains to be over the frame molding.
Just mount a rod about 4" above window and get draperies. Would look good if they stack to one side when open. Away from accent wall/headboard.
I couldn't really see from your photo where you want to hang the curtains. To the left and right of the checkered design?
Have you tried tension rods which fit inside the window frame? They can be adjusted to any length and you can find them very reasonably at Walmart.
Considering the drama of the room, I’d go from top of the wall or ceiling, using a “swing” arm rod.

I can't tell if the windows are in recessed nooks but it does appear that tension rods installed at ceiling height from wall to wall within the window nooks would work. Use draperies ceiling to floor. When opening drapes pull them to the non-windowed side. It will make it appear the windows are larger. If tension rods won't work use conventional rods at the same height and draperies at the same length.
Thanks. But at one side of window l have hydraulic cupboard door which will disturb the curtain rod. Both windows are 2/4 feet.
Hang curtains from ceiling.
