Garden weeds?

How can I “kill off” the remains of my garden without harming the earth for next season? The weeds have gotten very high with all

the rain we’ve had. Thanks!

    cut at ground level; if they are annuals the root systems will decompose and not come back; if they have re-seeded, cover the entire area with black plastic when the ground temps reach about 55-60f next spring; this will kill any seeds trying to germinate by the heat trapped under the plastic. Remove the plastic, and plant your garden as usual when the ground is about 70f; you can mulch now with cardboard and wheat straw; the cardboard will decompose, as will the straw over the winter;

  • Cover your garden area with a tarp or thick plastic with bricks or something weighty on top. This should do the trick.

    Mix Blue Dawn Dish Detergent w/white vinegar the amounts are on line. It will only kill weeds.
