How to cover an egress window??

We have an egress window with a well but have no idea of what to use to cover it or how to make a clear cover to keep out debris and rain. Any ideas?

You can buy the clear covers at Home Depot. Search for window well cover. They also have a fiberglass grate cover that allow airflow but would keep debris out.
Just make sure whatever you cover it with can easily be removed. Never know when you may need it.
