How do I convert my garden tub into a shower?

I have a garden tub and shower on the other side along with a window above the tub. I would like to make it a tiled shower with a bench. How would one do this??? Thank you in advance for the guidance.

We're doing this now. It wasn't a garden tub, but the process is the same. Remove the old tub and walls around it. Select a shower pan that matches your dimensions and plumbing locations. Install the new pan, backer board surround and then tile. This is just the basic process. Each step has several facets, of course.
