How to hide a bad patch job on our house?

On our 1947 house between 2 bedrooms there is an adjoined closet. On the outside of the house there is a patched up hole where it seems like there was a window at one time. Why a window in the closet? Maybe for light because there was no light fixture in there when we moved in.
I kept a couple of the original to the house windows when we replaced the windows.
I was thinking about painting the window to look like stained glass to put over the patched up spot. Instructions on stained glass appreciated. And any other ideas besides the re-purposed window? Send them my way.
Try to find siding to match eather wood or shaker you could paint it then hang a metel house decoration maybe a fake planter on the spot
perhaps find an old window just that size and hang it up there. Paint the window frame white and it will look like a third window
Yep, there was a window for light. Use craft glass paint for a faux stained glass from Hobby Lobby or Michael's. How about a large wreath.
the correct way to fix this would be to add shingles painted the same color as rest of house. This would be an easy job for a handy man. Anything else would look tacky.
If you don't want to add more shingles you could but something over it like a large climbing vine
I vote for adding the shingles.
If you go to Home Depot you could find something pretty close when you paint them the same color you won’t be able to tell then put a cute metel decoration over the shingles to hide them
Can you put the window back in a smaller version? Never can have too many windows no matter where they are.
Are these cedar shingles or are they shingles that have grooves in it? Home Depot has cedar shingles. They are around $59 a bundle last time I purchased a bundle. If you have the shingles with the grooves and you can't find any I think even plain shingles would look better than the patch that is there now.
BTW you can always check Home Depot's website. Take a small piece of the old shingle (right below the patch is a row of small pieces) take that piece to a building supply center if Home Depot doesn't work out.

I would make an outdoor piece of art to cover it if I couldn't fix it the correct way. Something like a painted barn quilt would be cool. Or lattice with plants.

Shutters over the where the window was located.
Put window pane in there decorated with flowers in each pane.
Add a feature Mirror and frame? or wall hanging ornament
