Hello. Crab grass is a annual that reseeds itself. I put out a crab grass preventor in spring. It has a preemergent in it so the seeds can't germinate.
like most everything else, there are two sides to Crab Grass ... one, it stays green when most other grasses suffer from summer heat/drought; it's low growing and covers well; for years we had the only 'green' lawn in the summer heat!!
