Flooring to use in Nova Scotia beach house with no heat in winter?

Purchases old ocean front house in Cape Breton Nova Scotia. Plan on renovating and using seasonally. Will be winterized with plumbing antifreeze and no heat or electric in Winter. What flooring can I put on the floors that wont crack or lift under those conditions? The home is wood frame, 2 story and vynol siding. About 150 ft. from Ocean?

Hello. I would think a hard pine flooring, or tile would be the best.

Looks amazing ! I used a textured peel and stick wood look vinyl planking. It looks great and was super inexpensive. It's waterproof and very easy to put down, I don't see why it would lift in cold temperatures.

Vinyl is particularly susceptible to expansion. The peel and stick will separate between the tiles making it no longer waterproof. Perimeter glued sheet vinyl will work because it stretches and there's no place to separate, but it's also not as nice to look at.

Bernadette, I can tell you don't use vinyl plank. It has extreme expansion/contraction ratios in an unconditioned area. Engineered hardwood is extremely stable in temperature swings.

The tile should be fine.. Porcelain and stone don't expand and contract like vinyl.

I would use artificial pvc planking from menards. It wont warp or expand

It looks real and is relatively cheap. I think they call it deck planking
