My son loves pringles! So once in awhile, I surprise him and bring him home a can. I told him not to throw out the container once he finished all those delicious crispy chips and here's why.........
I first thoroughly cleaned the can. It's not easy to get that sour cream and onion smell out. It took several washings. Once dried, add a thin layer of primer. I always use shellac based, but any will do.
After the shellac has dried, paint away! I went with a patina look. For this look, I used folkart in copper, waverly in peacock, and behr marquee in rainwater. I keep a handy spray bottle filled with water nearby. I first painted the whole piece in rainwater, just a quick, messy, thin coat. You do not want perfection with this technique. Then in areas, brush on some peacock in the same messy manner while spritzing with water to blend. Then add the copper in random spots also spritzing to blend.
There's so many options with this project! You can paint it to match any decor and color scheme! Go get creative and have fun!
