Well I picked up this little bench at the Restore for $6. Didn’t know it was Pottery Barn till I started painting.
Washed it down with TSP. No sanding.
Decided to do inside because it’s flipping 500 degrees outside.
Went to Home Depot to get my favorite Behr paint.
I know a lot of you question my technique of the staining over the paint. I like the aged look it creates and I have more flexibility to wipe and re add as I work on it.
I used the stain to outline the flower and dabbled a lot of stain in the center. I know there have been a lot of these sunflowers out there and I tried to make mine different.
I used more yellow to brighten and then some white accent. Also went in with some dry brush black acrylic paint. I will either put a spray polyurethane finish or brush some on.

once I get my fall stuff up, I will update the pic.
Suggested materials:
  • Behr paint   (Home Depot)
  • Black Stain   (Lowes)
  • Black and white acrylic paint   (Michaels)
