How do I get rid of grubs?

Our lovely zoysia lawn is infested and moles are ruining our lawn. Help!

  • Hi Linda. Head to your local garden store and ask for milky spore or nematodes. These are not fast-acting, though. If you want something quick, ask for a chemical. Chemicals usually are not safe for pets or children.

    Use a grub control product available at lawn and garden stores or hardware stores.

    Mole traps .... available from a garden center, or GEMPLERS. com ... actually moles don't eat many grubs, they eat more earth worms .... the grubs are the ones munching on the roots -- and the moles are making the tunnels, which are also used by mice and other critters ...

  • I keep a small box of instant mashed potatoes on hand and sprinkle a few spoonfuls where i think they travel. I do this at night since most are nocturnal. After they eat, the flakes expand in the stomach and well they die.


    NOTE: If you have pets keep these flakes out of their reach.
