How do I prepare my strawberry plants for winter? Also rhubarb ?

I would think you would have to bring them inside, with a little imagination you can dress up your pots, put some stones around the base or moss. I hope this helps a little, Dianne

Bring them inside, Sandra! None of these belong in a Winter garden, but they do well, started in a Spring garden. If you must leave them outside, put them right up against the wall, and where they will get some sunshine. Get them on or as low as you can get to the floor. I believe Kansas winds can be as harsh as Texas winds, and our winds can blow the AS right off of TEXAS or KANSAS. If you have a way to tie the containers to the floor or wall, or to a very heavy piece of furniture, do that. Make sure every container is full to the top with potting soil and even small rocks around the plants. Now, get an old blanket or bedspread (Goodwill?) AND a big blue tarp. Spread out the tarp. Place the bedspread on the tarp. Fold the bundle in half, then roll the bundle from end to end. Store the bundle on the patio. When a freeze or snowfall is predicted, cover all your plants with the bundle when the sun is out, uncover the plants. Do this throughout the Winter. If the plants live, you will have a jumpstart with your Spring garden. ☺️

I always have my strawberries in hanging pots. I live in MN, so you know it freezes early around here. I never do anything special to mine, just put them under a porch or shrub or something and stack them up and they come back every year. I don't do rhubarb, so I can't help you with that, and my berry bushes are in the ground. The biggest thing is to protect the roots from freezing.
