Important inquiry

How do I get the right person to read a project . The person that can possibly help find it . ? I've heard lots of this and my 2nd mom who has been trying to fix s burned out family home for 11years&pay bill s elsewhere plus take care of 4grandkids of a received daughter has finally done enough to move back in 4years ago but is still working on finishing everything . All is for as best as to expect but the first floors flooring is still undertaken for 4 + years now . She settled for someone's old cabinets her son got from a job that are extremely our dates . Even so there better than none . She needs those cabinets drawer pullout for organizing,so things are findable . She would like a breakfast bar . She wants an island, she made 1 with an adjustable folding table . Trust me in time she'll have one . The issue is she should've retired 2 years ago & only did for like 6 months after her husband passed suddenly . She needs a break . I wish I could afford to help but can't . That's when I figured just maybe we being me,my husband & his2 brothers can at least build things if I could reach out asked to have a DYI sponsored . Can someone point me in the right direction????Please! I wish those people from tv went to our ho!e improvement stores to help people give kitchen &backyards make overs . Such things don't happen around year .No such luck! I appreciate any help ,thank you!

Paint does a lot. If things are in decent shape a few coats of paint and new hardware can make a huge difference on kitchen counters. Also clean up and declutter. Amazing how much better countertops looks when most of the "stuff" is put away. I check my local Salvation Army on a weekly basis for used kitchen cabinets, tables and dressers. Every now and then they have 25% off store wide. So you save even more.

You can install a new kitchen back splash by purchasing a 4x8 piece of paneling from Lowe's. They have a barnwood look that is less then $40 a sheet and right in style now. Just cut to size and use a few brads to nail it up. If you want to get fancy use half round on the ends for a finished look.

Consider using pallets to make furniture. Usually these can be picked up for free. The internet is full of ideas and plans on how to use these.

We live on less then $1000 a month so it can be done you just have to be creative. Good luck.

Why not apply for a USDA home repair grant or super low cost loan, and then Habitat for Humanity do the repairs very low cost?

https://www.rd.usda.gov/programs-services/single-family-housing-repair-loans-grants go to the upper right corner and go to your state to see whats available and how to apply
