When and how do I separate these bulbs?
I live in zone 9 in Bakersfield, CA
I read you should divide them once every three years. Just try to make sure each section gets a good amount of root with it. Hi there Kathy. We live in South Africa and divide ours every four to six years when they start forming big clumps. You can divide them in spring or in early autumn, after the plants have finished flowering. If you divide your agapanthus in spring, they are less likely to flower that year .
