Faux Leather Coffee Table.

This cast away coffee table was the ultimate clean slate. I sanded it before I remembered to take a photo. But I promise you, it didn't look much better than this when I got it.

After sanding, I cut and pasted this paintable wallpaper. The design on it reminded me of some leather I'd seen used on a dresser that I could have never afforded.

Next, time to paint. This was where I really had to go with my gut. The color I used was a bit obnoxious, but I was hopeful that glazing it was going to give me the color I was shooting for in the end.

See? Yukk. Fingers crossed....lets glaze it.....

Getting there...now is the time to decide when enough is enough....

Now. This has darkened it just enough for me. It has the aged leather look that I was hoping for.

A couple of coats of poly over all and then I added upholstery tacks. Voila! Free coffee table is now a favorite piece of furniture. Now it can age gracefully.

I'd love to print your faux leather top coffee table instructions as well as some others, but nothing works. How can I do it so I can take the hard copy to my work area.

If you have a Mac, hit File/Print then change Destination to Save as Pdf. Then save to your desktop; you will have a pdf copy that you can now print -- and I always create folders on my desktop and save all the craft .pdfs in various folders.

Two suggestions if you don't have a Mac:

Press and hold Ctrl and P and see if it will take you to a print screen.

If not, open a Word document, save it, and leave it open. Go back to the website, set your cursor at the top where you want to start and hold it down to highlight everything you want to print till you get to the bottom. Press Ctrl and C. Go to the Word document click on it, and press Ctrl and V. That should copy the information to the Word document. Save it and you should be able to print. If you have trouble highlighting from the top, try starting at the bottom and go to the top. I don't know why going from the top sometime doesn't work, but starting at the bottom does.

      Hope this helps.

It was so many years ago that I don’t remember 😞

it was sort of terra cotta looking before I glazed it.

Great idea, but... If you put a wet glass on the table, will it leave a stain as the material is wallpaper? Thank you.
