I am sure you guys must have seen and even bought these IKEA lamps. I have a love/hate relationship with them.
They work fine and are affordable but I just cant stand the plain scrunched up paper look.
So I decided to switch things up a bit, play around with some Watercolor paints and this is what I created.

Now lets move onto to todays little DIY project.
This is how the lamps looked Before.
The plan was to create an Ombre Watercolor effect on top and paint the lamp base a Gold/Copper color.
So this is what I used for the lampshade part.
You can see the paints that I clearly used alot for this project.
First I soaked the lampshade wet with the spray bottle so when I start painting with the watercolors, the paint could easily spread.
I like to work in sections.
I would paint one section a different shade of blue from dark to light colors and at the very end I would blend them together.
So two sides of the lampshade were blue and the other two were purple.
I did the same thing on the purple side.
And the last step was to use some Gold paint with a thin paintbrush and create an almost brushstrokes pattern.

And there you have it.
What do you think?
