About 20+ years ago my husband and I made thermal quilted window shades with fabric that came on a roll from JoAnn's Fabric Store. The fabric was layered with fabric, batting, a metallic barrier and all you had to do was sew the top fabric on to match your decor. It also came with magnetic stripes to complete the seal on the windows. Unfortunately, we rented our home for a period of time and the tenant took them down, damaging them and then complained about their heating bill. Does anyone know if this fabric is still being made and where to purchase this? Thank you in advance.
Rejoice! Rejoice! Rejoice!I have just completed my cabinet painting project. All 24 doors, 4 drawers and all the cabinet boxes on my own. It was quite a job but I used milk paint that needed no sanding or priming. The results are quite amazing and have given my old mobile home a new lease of life. Now I have to put the hinges and handles on. What I would like to know is should I put them on when the cabinets doors are up or before I put them up? I know I have to make or buy a jig. I have a small electric drill and am not sure if it will be able to drill through the frames so thought I might like to add the handles horizontally at the top of the flat inset piece. Any other hints on this project?
I live in Minnesota and have a large Mandevilla hanging plant that was outside in direct sunlight all summer. Now that it is becoming fridged again, I brought the plant inside for the Winer. Am I wasting my time.......or will it survive inside for 6 months? Not sure how to Winter it?It is too beautiful and heart breaking to just let go!!Liz
