Keep the pots well watered.
Make sure they are getting at least six hours of sunlight, lots of water if it is hot where you are, and that the pots are not freezing if its getting chilly. In the past, I was able to plant my Mums in my flower bed and they lasted several years, but eventually died when we had an especially cold winter.
HI Charlene,
You can do it if they are in well drained soil and mulched for the winter. Here's an article that tells you exactly what to do. I know that I've had success in the past when I took the time to really get them ready for winter. Wishing you the best. -Linda

Thank you all so much! I look forward to happy healthy mums for years to come. ❤️
Hi Charlene - I planted my mums around my mailbox last year and they looked totally dead all winter but came back and bloomed in the spring! I say it is worth a shot!
Cut back when blooming is done and mulch for protection
If you cut them WAY back and don't let them dry out they should come back next year.
Hi Charlene Hope this helps
