How to update kitchen hardware?

What about kitchen hardware? Do you mean handles, knobs etc. on cabinet doors, if so I have just researched this project and have bought some fabulous black handles by Cosmos on Amazon - very resonable. If you want knobs try Hobby Lobby. They have hundreds of amazing knobs, incredible, I just wish I had some place to put some.

Are you talking cabinet hardware or fixtures? Either way, the selections are endless. You have to decide what style, color and price point you want. Then go on the internet, there are so many companies.

Please give us more info. If you want to change it up you could buy new, but you could also paint them, you could also "make" new. More, please.

There are a million different choices. You can go to Home Depot, your local hardware store, even online. Normally all you need is a screwdriver to unscrew the old ones out and put the new ones in. Have fun with your project! Hugs, Holly

When changing cabinet hardware, it's easiest if you match the sizing of the pre-drilled holes from the existing hardware. If it is a single hole for a knob, no issues, but if it is a handle pull that has 2 holes, you'll want to measure the distance of the center of the screw to the center of the other screw. This may be 3" or 4" or something else. That measurement is called O.C. (on center) when you start looking for the new hardware... it'll say something like: '3" O.C.' The actual handle may be longer than that, but the screws where it attaches to your cabinet door/drawer are then 3" apart.

What is it exactly about some of the drawer sliders that is not working? What condition is the lumber in the drawers? Is it warped, loose, or disintegrating?

If the drawers in your 30yr old cabinets are no longer functioning properly and smoothly due to the slider hardware being worn out, warped, damaged, or broken, then they probably cannot be 'updated' as you say, without being fully replaced.

Can the wood just be sanded down a little, to level any waves or warping of the wood?
